Phantasy Star Online 2 is the kind of game I will happily sink tens of PSO2 Meseta thousands of hours into but if someone ever asks me whether they should start playing with it I’ll say no. It’s a arcade MMO with absurdly detailed character customization, demanding hack-n-slash battle, and a satisfying grind. But what I love about PSO2 can also be buried underneath frustrations which make it hard to recommend. Throughout the Xbox Games Showcase last weekend, Sega surprised the community by declaring Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis–and, by the looks of it, New Genesis is an exciting bid to fix a number of these sins.
What New Genesis actually is, however, is somewhat perplexing. It is basically a standalone game–an entirely separate free-to-play MMO into PSO2–that’s place a thousand years in the future. It features a completely new graphics engine, updated battle and character customization methods, and environments that are far larger than PSO2’s tight corridor-style levels. At precisely the same time, Sega is saying that the 2 MMOs will actually work in tandem: Characters from PSO2 can freely jump between the old model and New Genesis, with most makeup carrying over while development is going to be kept separate. PSO2 will keep on getting its own updates but will also get the graphical updates of New Genesis so the two seem more similar.
There is still a lot of questions regarding how this will work–not to mention why Sega decided to split its MMO into different games in such a confusing way –but I’m prepared to be optimistic since the potential here is clear. Despite being eight years old, PSO2 has some clever ideas I want other MMOs would look closely at. The actual draw has and will always be its rough battle. At greater problems, one wrong move can get you killed, which puts a stressed but exciting emphasis on aligning ideal combos and analyzing enemy movements so that you understand when to dodge. Its nine classes vary from gun-wielding Rangers that change the game into a third-person shot to Bouncers that fly around on a pair of rocket boots. Assessing the heaps of class abilities and the way they work together is enjoyable, so I do not care that the graphics are outdated or the levels lack variety. PSO2 is about killing stuff.
Parties who manage to kill enough monsters in a specific area quickly enough could activate a special event that causes more creatures to spawn rapidly and increase the probability of them falling rare loot. If the party will continue to kill these respawning monsters at a quick enough pace–it is not easy–that the time limitation on the event is extended. It encourages players to work collectively, with the benefit being an endless torrent of critters to kill and loot to scoop up. One time I had a celebration that pulled out this for an exhilarating 15 minutes. It was like looter shot nirvana.Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 5 Debuts New Classes, Higher Level Cap There is a new story, upgraded features and even a new course to enjoy. Sega has been hyping up the game’s next stage with bonuses and rewards for some time, but now there’s even more. Episode 5 looks like a significant departure from Episode 4, as there are tons of new items to encounter along with a new, higher level limit of buy meseta pso2 90 to reach. Unlike regular classes, there are prerequisites to unlock Scions, plus they tend to play otherwise. To play Hero, you should have any two level 75 courses before speaking to Cofy to unlock it.
